DRESS CODE 2023-2024
Class Dress Code
Students not properly prepared for class may be asked to sit out and watch.
Dancers are responsible for wearing the proper attire to their classes. All instructors will be enforcing the dress code.
*Dancers must wear street shoes into the building and then change into dance shoes. Do not wear dance shoes outside the studio.
*No watches and no jewelry other than small earrings
Preparatory Ballet
- Black Leotard, No Tights, White Socks, Pink Ballet Shoes
- Dancers may wear a ballet skirt when permitted.
- Hair must be slicked back in a bun with the correct hair ribbon color.
Ballet 1-8
- Leotard (Color TBD), Pink Tights, Pink Ballet shoes with pink ribbons
- Hair must be slicked back in a bun with the correct hair ribbon color.
Preschool 1/2
- Any color leotard and tights may be worn.
- A dance skirt may be worn for ballet and tap.
- Ballet shoes and tap shoes are needed.
- Hair must be pulled up off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail, or bun.
Ballet/Jazz Combo
- Any color leotard and tights may be worn.
- A dance skirt may be worn for Ballet, and dance shorts may be worn for jazz.
- Pink Ballet shoes and Tan Jazz shoes are needed.
- Hair must be pulled up off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail, or bun.
Jazz/Tap Combo
- Any color leotard and tights, biketard, or dance top and booty shorts may be worn.
- Tan Tap shoes and Tan Jazz shoes are needed.
- Hair must be pulled up off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail, or bun.
Jazz/Leaps and Turns
- Any color sports top and tight-fitted leggings or shorts
- No T-shirts or baggy clothes
- Jazz Shoes/Turners are needed
- Hair must be pulled off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail or bun.
Musical Theater
- Any color sports top and tight-fitted leggings or shorts
- Jazz Shoes/Character shoes are needed.
- Hair must be pulled off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail, or bun. Students should not be fixing their hair during class.
Lyrical/Contemporary/Improv
- Any color sports top and tight-fitted leggings or shorts
- No T-shirts or baggy clothes may be worn during class.
- Dance Socks
- Hair must be pulled off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail, or bun. Students should not be fixing their hair during class.
Acro
- Any color sports top and booty shorts or leotard and shorts may be worn.
- No T-shirts or baggy clothes may be worn during class.
- Students must be barefoot.
- Hair must be pulled off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail, or bun. Students should not be fixing their hair during class.
Stretch/Conditioning/Flexibility
- Any color sports top and booty shorts, leotard and shorts, or leotard.
- No T-shirts or baggy clothes may be worn during class.
- Bring running shoes, a yoga mat, blocks, bands, etc.
- Hair must be pulled off of the face and neck and secured in a braid, ponytail, or bun. Students should not be fixing their hair during class.
Hip Hop
- Wear something comfortable to move in that you don’t mind getting sweaty.
- Sweatpants or other loose-fitting athletic pants or shorts, t-shirts, and hoodies encouraged
- No Jeans.
- Sneakers must be worn.
