We are excited to announce an upcoming audition for our esteemed Dance Company on June 30th! This is your chance to become part of a vibrant and dynamic team of dancers who share a common love for the art form.

GUIDELINES:
VIDEO AUDITION
Please carefully review the following guidelines to ensure your submission meets our requirements:
- Video Submission:
No introduction or fancy editing is required. Please wear a leotard and tights for women, and tight-fitting dancewear for men.
- Classical Variation: A short classical variation drawn from the standard repertoire, danced in pointe shoes by female applicants.
- Contemporary Variation: A short contemporary variation (which may consist of something drawn from the repertoire, phrases from classwork, or an applicant-created work) that illustrates a range of movements different from the classical variation.
- Barre Work: 3-5 minutes of barre work, incorporating both sides, danced in soft ballet shoes.
- Center Work: 3-5 minutes of center work that includes adagio, pirouettes, petit, and grand allegro, danced on flat or in pointe shoes.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Headshot
- 2-3 Dance Photos: These should reveal the dancer’s body proportions and lines.
Evaluation and Intensive Classes
In the second week of July, we will add a specific class to the schedule for evaluation purposes for those selected via video audition who cannot attend the July intensive.
We highly recommend that all applicants interested in joining our Company and Academic program participate in our intensive sessions.
For those unable to attend the scheduled audition day but who pass the video selection, a drop-in fee of $20.00 per class will apply for the necessary evaluation classes.
Special Offers for New Students
For new students, we offer the first class free at the beginning of the 2024-2025 season, starting on August 19th.
Choreography Camp
The choreography camp, scheduled for August 5-10th, is only available to those who pass the auditions or video selections and complete the necessary evaluation classes. A detailed schedule for each number will be provided.

OISD Company is now branching out into three sub groups.
COMPETITION TEAM
(COMP)
We have our traditional OISD Competition Team which competes in all styles including jazz, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, ballet, etc. Dancers apart of this team will compete at regional and national competition levels and be able to attend conventions as a Company. This team is built for those who want a career in the commercial dance world.
CLASSICAL ACADEMIC PROGRAM
(CAP)
The OISD Classical Academic Program is built for dancers who are looking for a future career in classical dance. Dancers selected for this program will have the chance to compete at renowned ballet competitions including YAGP, UBC, WBC, and many others. They may attend conventions, intensives, and performances.
HIP HOP TEAM
(CREW)
THE NEWEST BRANCH of the OISDANCE Company. Our Hip Hop Crew will attended Hip Hop competitions, jams, sessions, battles, and conventions. Be introduced to a whole other world of dance alongside the rest of the Teams.

During the audition, our experienced panel of judges will assess your technical skills, creativity, and stage presence.
Whether you specialize in ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, or any other genre, we encourage you to attend and demonstrate your unique abilities.
